Rusty Fairy

My friend Gillian has set the challenge of rust over at Mixed Media Monday. Getting something rusty in itself was a problem for me but after much searching.....

I was reading a fairy story for a little girl this week and with the sun shining and the garden so green I thought I would create my own little fairy garden. I've used a lot of elements including stamping and sewing (it was very distracting searching through my fabric stash!). I also love working with fresh flowers. The pictures don't really show it but there are some pretty blue glass beads at the top of the "maypoles".

She now has a little home at the bottom of the garden.

A blue day!

The theme at Wednesday Stamper last week was two tones of colour. I have been playing with the acrylics again and loved the various shades of the blue on the canvas. It seemed to lend itself to the sea, so I added this paperartsy stamp, which I love, to complete the piece.

Birthday card

This is the tag card I made for my friend Gillian's birthday. Hit a bit of a mental block so retreated to the comfort of my favourite colours and distress inks. Sometimes a bit of what you like does you the power of good ;-)
